Overview
Laura Anthony is a senior consultant who has worked with education institutions and other employers for over twenty five years. Growing up in a family of educators, Laura brings a deep understanding of and connection to the issues that impact students and those who work in K12 and higher education institutions.
Laura’s consulting experience involves serving as a third-party mediator, investigator and hearing officer. This neutral work enables Laura to apply her training and background in psychology, trauma, and restorative practices to help education leaders resolve conflict in ways that support their institutional priorities and workplace cultures.
Laura’s interest in conflict resolution started in law school and inspired her to pursue advanced coursework in alternative dispute resolution following graduation. She holds a Professional Mediation Certificate from Cornell University, Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution and is a Workplace Investigation Certificate Holder through the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI-CH). Laura also serves as a hearing officer for student conduct hearings and a third-party decision maker, investigator and informal resolution facilitator under Title IX. In addition, she provides program reviews and audits of institutional procedures and compliance standards.
The educators in Laura’s family not only inspired her focus on school law, but also led to a love of teaching. As a result, she’s become a frequent national speaker on education and dispute resolution topics and regularly designs and delivers training programs to national and regional audiences and institutional teams on topics involving student and employee conduct, trauma-informed practices, investigation techniques and compliance with education and disability laws.
